I have read the reviews on this page to some dismay. I stayed at this hotel in January and was made most welcome, the food is prepared by a first class chef, the rooms are warm and as the owners told me they were upgrading the bathrooms so that all had a shower and they had 3 to go!! The... more
We stayed here in 2007 for 3 nights and are still in shock at the amateurish way in which they seemed to run the hotel. We booked in January 6 months before arrival but when we arrived the room we were shown to was actually not ready so we were given another at the top of the building with just... more
This dreadful hotel needs a complete overhaul, both the management and the decor. It was dirty and the service was surly and unhelpful. The breakfast was virtually inedible. To be avoided at all costs while under current management more
I beleive you must have the wrong hotel. There are many Sutherland Arms and Sutherland Inns in this part of the highlands. It was drizzly and getting dark, we went through a few little towns, but wanted, hm, well, a place with a bit of character. Stayed for a couple of days in late June. Friendly staff, good food and comfy rooms. Hotel is very biker friendly which was a major consideration when booking. Lovely location, good for exploring the Highlands. Thoroughly enjoyed stay. more
I would like to thank the staff and owners of the Sutherland Arms Hotel, Golspie for the excellent service and accomodation I received while staying recently. The food was fantastic, restaraunt was closed due to the late hour that I arrive but the bar staff very kindly prepared food very quickly. The room we were given was well decorated with... more

I recently stayed at the Sutherlan Arms hotel and found the place warm and welcoming. I believe the new owners have only been there since January this year (2007) and i am glad to say that i felt at home, the rooms were clean, warm and tidy with antique furniture to keep in with the tradition of the 200 year... more
