What a fantastic, professionally run bed and breakfast/home from home this is! I arrived on a bleak November evening having come across the mountain through the mist to Culdie, near Applecross and to be welcomed by Janet with coffee and home made cakes-a truly warm and friendly start to my two night stay. The room was a wonderful haven from... More

This is a beautiful little cottage in the most idyllic location. The hospitality shown by Janet is outstanding; we received a warm welcome with coffee and cake. The bedroom is spacious with a lovely en-suite which included a great shower and heated flooring. Digital TV and WIFI are available along with a mini fridge and a kettle in the room.... More

The most idillic cottage, in an area of outstanding beauty. It was the first night of our holiday and the climb over the mountains to Applecross could not have resulted in a happier and softer landing. We adore everything about Applecross and this, in no small part, was to do with the wonderful welcome by Janet with her tea and... More

My wife and i stayed late October and apart from the weather could not of asked for more. On arrival, coffee and cakes - a great touch. Slippers and a dressing gown, a first for us in a B&B ! Wonderful bedroom, best shower I have ever had anywhere - I want one ! Great choice for breakfast and the... More

The room is great with a lovely bathroom (great shower!) and breakfast was brilliant. Janet is extremely welcoming with tea and home baking on arrival- marvellous! this is in a great location, close to a few lovely walks and a short drive to the Applecross Inn. It is a great B&B with lots of lovely thoughtful touches, which will make... More

With my very poor sense of geography I had arranged to meet a friend on Skye for a quick dinner, before traveling on to Ragged Acre at about 10pm. It was actually 70 miles, and over some seriously winding and precarious mountain roads. As it got later and later, lost on a scrubby patch of what appeared to be a... More

Myself and a visiting friend from Australia stayed at Ragged Acre... a lovely quiet location, just a short drive from the pub and restaurants of Applecross. Janet welcomed us with hot drinks and homemade cake and biscuits, and then we went for a short walk recommended by our host to watch a little family of seals about ten mins walk... More

We stayed one night with Janet and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. It was like visiting a favourite relative rather than staying in B & B. The situation is remote which adds to the peace and charm of the place and we were sorry we could not stay longer to get to know Applecross better. Janet is a very warm and... More

Clean, comfortable and welcoming. An excellent place to stay to get away from it all, with Applecross Inn just a couple of miles away for dinner. More
