My husband and I had booked a 2 night DBB deal at Ben Wyvis for £89 per night. At £89 for DBB we were expecting neither the Ritz nor the haute cuisine... and we got neither! The lounge and bar areas and the dining room were very smart and clearly once a very grand ballroom. An effort has been made... more

My sister and I stayed here for 2 nights last weekend.First impressions were great nice communal areas and the room we had was huge with good bathroom and views over the gardens we thought we had made a good choice, now for the rest. The evenig meal was very small portions with watery tomato soup,1 fishcake and 2 small new... more

The Ben Wyvis is a nice hotel, old fashioned, very large but the rooms were big and comfortable so no complaints there. The breakfast was also very nice, self service which was ideal for a hotel catering for bus parties. The 3 course dinner was pretty poor by any standard, not all guests are pensioners and the portions could never... more

Excellent value for the 4 night Dinner B& B package. Very helpful and efficient staff - especially in the Dining Room. The Ben Wyvis is a Victorian style hotel with the grandeur of that age, which is showing some signs of its age. However the hotel is comfortable and clean with a helpful staff which made our break very enjoyable... more

The service we received was first class. I would like to commend the Reception and DiningRoom Staff for their efficiency, politeness and friendliness. The meals and service were first rate. The room was satisfactory. - Warm, clean and pleasant. With lovely views of the well kept grounds and beyond. Ben Wyvis is fortunate to be located in one of the... more

Booked into the hotel for the weekend and it was not a pleasent experience....booked a double room (£90) - located at the back of the hotel, no view and there was hardly room for the bed (room should just be a single). Bathroom dirty and tap came off in my hand. Breakfast disappointing and general cleanliness of the hotel was... more

Very disappointing break - room small, outlook to "Dry Store" and crates of dirty linen and black bags!! Room floor on a slope - wardrobe doors kept opening!!! Tap on bath came off in hand. Felt we were in the way due to weddings on 2 days. Limited menu, food not exciting and portions very small. Public Areas of the... more

The Ben Wyvis was a let-down. Unfortunately it's an all too typical story. An apparently once grand hotel left to decay and definitely in need of significantly more investment than it's currently getting. I'm sorry but painting the walls maroon and putting duvets on the beds did not make up for the dingy room whose furniture was past its best... more

Could not use main lounge due to wedding receptions. Child portions meals served, in the annex (ballroom) one broccoli flower and 3 green beans is not seasonable vegetables. Food ok but on the cold side, food had to be transported from other end of hotel, one waiter for 12 tables, not good. No tablecloths on dining tableswould have been expected... more
