A great place to stay, with a very welcoming host and great views at the front. Not all the rooms are en suite (ours wasn't) but it was fine. Breakfast is enormous and very tasty; don't plan to have lunch as well! Well worth the stay, with such fabulous secenery all around; don't miss the Fetherland walk to the north. more
We stayed here on our second night. We felt very welcomed. The house boasts lovely views across the bay. Nice and quiet, lovely bedroom with bathroom hidden behind the cupboard. We went to the Shetland Islands the first time in search of the lovely little "Puffin". Almara's sign post has a Puffin greeting you! So that is how our wonderful first holiday began. Like other guests we have met at Almara we have returned many times and have always been greeted with such warmth. We have spent the longest day... more
The house of Almara is very nice. The rooms are very beautiful, cleaning up and endowed with every confort. The place is comfortable indeed to visit that part of the islands Shetland. The breakfast is typical English, abundant and everything good. Rather the lady Marcia offends if doesn't eat enough!!! The most beautiful thing is the hospitality of the lady... more

Almara B&B,run by the gracious Marcia Williamson,was a joy to return home to ,after a long hot day walking around the beautiful Shetland countryside.It is the furthest North B&B on the mainland,in the pretty area of Upper Urafirth 2km from Hillswick,near Eshaness Cliffs and Ronas Hill.Its a great walking area with otters ,whales,birds and rare plants.Marcia was a very helpful... more
