Chose this hotel as my usual hotel in Shetland was fully booked. I will not stay there again. Found staff to be aloof and unhelpful. Food and service very poor. Hotel is in a nice location so it is a pity that the staff do not go out of their way to make guests feel welcome. Certainly not good value... more

A disappointment... My room was tiny - this is Shetland, for goodness sake, they're hardly short of space. And noisy - I was always woken up before 6am by staff clattering around. Yes, the restaurant food (as distinct from the bar food) is lovely, but you have to book it before 5pm - ridiculous, especially considering that it's almost empty.... more

If you want to relax eat good food, enjoy a drink served by people who enjoy serving you, this is the place. Be warned - you end up being too relaxed to bother doing anything! more

If you like comfort, friendly and professional service, and excellent food, please get yourself to the Herrislea. I've been to the UK several times, and this by far is my favorite.
