I stayed at Rigg Cottage for one night on my way home from a business trip in Glasgow. Kate was the perfect host and welcomed me in to sit by the fire while she finished making my lovely dinner. The bed was very comfortable and I had a great night's sleep in this quiet location. My ensuite room had a... More

A warm welcome for 5 tired cyclists with tea and cake set the tone for a homely and comfortable stay. We were able to use the dining room as our sitting room and played cards in the evening. The double bedroom we had was delightful with a view of the surrounding countryside and a recently refurbished en-suite.Our evening meal was... More

I stayed 2 nights whist fishing in the area ( I can recommend Loch Bradan, which is a short drive away if you like trout fishing!). Kate is a very welcoming host and cooks a lovely breakfast. The place is in a very quiet location, down a wooded lane with fantastic views. It really is a good spot, especially if... More

It`s the start of the new season, which reminded me of your stay here when you fished at Loch Bradan. Thank you for the great review, hope you might come back for some local (on permit) fly fishing this time. More

We stayed here at the end of Day 9 cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats. Both Day 8 and Day 9 had been 100+ mile days and the 4 of us were tired to say the least. We arrived dripping wet and very late - hardly any time before last orders for food at the local pub. Kate could... More

Your group were cycling LeJog just for fun, and one of your number had also run a marathon the week before - oh boy, was I impressed! Now it`s your turn to be impressed - I`ve learned how to respond to reviews, and want to say a huge thank you. Happy cycle-marathoning! More

I have been staying at this B&B on a monthly basis for nearly two years and it has been consistently of an excellent standard. The location is nicely quiet, wooded on one side and open views on the other. Inside, it is warm and cosy; heat additionally provided by a wood burner which is very pleasant. The owner provides a... I have stayed at Rigg cottage many times over the last few years and i can honestly say that it is the best B and B i have stayed at. Kate goes above and beyond the call of duty to look after you. The rooms are authentic Scottish farm house style but fitted with modern bathrooms with hot showers. The... More
