Many thanks for your positive comments. Delighted you loved the Lake. Our staff read this too so this really keeps them motivated. Room 2 is now closed off for three weeks planned total refurb. Room 1 and rest of Lake views follow before next Spring. Unfortunately being privately owner means refurbishment does have to be phased in over a period.
We managed to get a late booking and this hotel and were really glad we did. We stayed in Room 8, which has had negative reviews previously, and we felt that the room was comfortable and well appointed. Visit this hotel for its stunning location and lakeside views, its great food and friendly and efficient staff. It is let down by the accommodation which could generously be described as faded. Many thanks for your kind comments. Staff too, read these pages and like to see customer feedback. All Lake views are scheduled for total refurb between now and next Spring. Being privately owned and of course in the current economy mean investment has to be spread over a period of time.
Had a lovely overnight break. We stayed in room 7 which was beautiful and lovely and light. Very quirkey with a slightly sloping floor. Dinner in Waterfront restaurant was very nice and in beautiful setting. more

I only read the reviews after our visit and found lements i agreed with in several- both good and bad. The hotel is in a fabulous situation and the view from the restaurant and our lake side room was breathtaking. The setting for this hotel is beautiful and staff were friendly and helpful. Room 8 was decorated in a contemporary style. Evening meal in the bar was good.
