Staying at Kilmeny House is a truly memorable experience. Margaret and Blair are wonderful hosts -who make you feel truly welcome. Nothing is to much trouble for them. We stayed in the suite -which was beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable. Margaret's breakfasts and her home baking are absolutely delicious. We had a wonderful time and are definitely planning a return... More

Everyone should be pampered this well at least once in your life. Staying at Kilmeny House is like visiting a different world where people care, afternoon tea is an occasion to learn about the island and your fellow guests, and where breakfast (especially the wonderful marmalade muffins) is like visiting with the Queen. Everything is simply perfect, the most modern... More

Our first visit to Islay. We were greeted by Margaret, who is an excellent hostess. Wonderful afternoon tea was served in beautiful lounge. Our 'Pink' room was absolutely magnificent, every single detail had been thought of. The rolled top bath with a mirror flat screen television was a delight. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, that we really didn't want to... More

Friom the moment the front door opened we knew we had found a hidden gem on Islay! within a few moments of meeting Margaret, she was the sparkling diamond at the centre of this wonderful house. Our room had been lovingly prepared, with a little nip of the amber necter for hubby to try! Meeting and being introduced by Margaret,to... More

you will need to starve for a week at least before visiting here, in order to do justice to the breakfast! The same is true for Margaret's sisters establishment at Glenegedale where we spent the second night kindly organised by Margaret as she was fully booked and I can understand why. Cannot praise too highly. Everything spotless yet homely and... More

I cannot praise Kilmeny highly enough. The room (Yellow Room) was beautifully and tastefully decorated with a sunny outlook and views. Fitted out with lovely furniture, books, and fabrics it had a delightful ambience. The bathroom was modern and ultra clean with superb lighting. The guests lounge and the breakfasting room were gorgeous with many original paintings and quality old... More

Me and my partner stayed here for a birthday treat whilst visiting all the distilleries on Islay. From start to finish Margaret & Blair were very accommodating. It was like staying with a family member than staying at a guest house. We were greeted with afternoon tea & cakes on our arrival and felt instantly at home. The whole room... More

Not since we walked into our room on stilts in the Maldives on our honeymoon has a room taken our breath away like this. We stayed here for a week, and courtsey of my fab inlaws, had the suite.
