We stayed here towards the end of June 2009. First impressions are not good,as the hotel is a seventies building which is showing its age quite badly. Inside, the reception area has obviously been refurbished. Unfortunately the stairwells and rooms have not been so fortunate. Our room was clean and adequate in size and the bed was quite comfortable. It... more

Took my 89 year old mother on a 3 night break to the lovely Isle of Lewis, staying at the informal and very comfortable Cabarfeidh Hotel. We both loved our trip and our stay at this hotel. Staff are wonderful, food is great. My favourite is the crispy new baked croissants at breakfast! Bedroom has all sorts of thoughtful little... more

As other reviewers have said, don't be put off by the rather unprepossessing and '70s' exterior. The hotel is actually very nice. The rooms were average but were not lacking any essentials and our view over a tin roof and the local Chinese takeaway wasn't the best, but the hotel is more than acceptable in other areas. There is a... more

Doesnt look much from outside but the rooms are nice. Nice clean modern bathroom Food is excellent, I agree with other reviewers the service can sometimes be a little slow. If you have a car its location is excellent and means you can avoid the town centre if need be, though close enough if you want to go in. more

As mentioned by previous reviewers, not a stunning building though it does sit in well tended grounds. Pleased to report the bar and restuarant have been refurbished and have a nice modern European bistro feel. Some public areas could still benefit from a refresh, particularly the main staircase and the Willow Room which have their own distinctive smells. Food was... more

Stayed for 2 nights. Booked for me by client & I didn't see price so I can't comment on the value. Typical business type room much improved from when I last stayed here about 3 - 4 years ago with everything you need. Had obviously been refurbished. Bathroom OK. A small irritating noise somewhere at night but not too bad.... more

Found the hotel by net-searching for places to stay in Stornoway. Looked ok from the reviews and website although a bit 70's. booking was efficient and i had an instant confirmation reply. I took a taxi from the airport (£8) and this service was quick with a warm Highland welcome. I travelled to Lewis with a colleague for work committments... more
