A hotel...which is run like a family home with house guests...in an unsurpassably naturally stunning location..that is if you like a mile or so of sand on your pristine beach, with hills and space and machair, and wind....Even in August the midges are acceptable...in comparison to Skye say...Richard and Joanna will look after you in an interested, energetic professional and relaxed manner...this... more

Baile na Ciele has an exceptional location to be sure. The breakfast/dining room overlooks the vast expanse of the Uig sands, which are enchanting even in dull weather. The quality of the food is also very high - if slightly expensive for dinner (£30pp, plus £10.50/£14.00 for a bottle of wine). You will be treated to a range of local... more

Richard and Joanna have created a quintessential B&B - it's not the most luxurious place we've ever stayed and although the breakfasts are excellent they weren't the best we've ever had, however this was by far the best B&B experience we've had anywhere. The hosts are smart and have a great sense of humor and the place is loaded with... more

We stayed at Baile na Cille for 2 nights in May. I had been looking forward to our visit probably most of all our stops on our Hebridean tour based on the stunning photos on Richard & Joanna's website, and if anything it exceeded my expectations. The hotel's position on the edge of the golden sands of the estuary is... more

This is a fantastic place. Richard and Joanna are great. Baile na Cille has a charm of its own. Certainly, the setting is amazing (see pictures on their website) but our reason for loving it so has something to do with the warm and relaxing atmosphere. This is truely a place to unwind. We were there for a whole week... more

Stayed for two nights at baile-na-cille in June 2009 and spend two wonderful days staying at this B&B. If you are looking for a standard run of the mill B&B that could be anywhere then this is not the place for you. I loved this B&B with its stunning views and pleasant quirkiness (check out the old bar billiards in... more

we thought we were to find a quiet, lonely place with a nice view, and we found an incredible asthonishing view: golden sand, red rocky mountains, green grass, sheeps, rabbits, sea eagles and a wellcoming old biulding just in the middle. We haven't seen nothing like that before, and we have travelled a lot. We strongly suggest to have dinner... more

This charming and hospitable place has got have one of the most spectaculat positions in Scotland overlooking a vast sandy bay which fills with the tide. The owners couldn't have been more welcoming and the food was both tasty and generous in quantity. The suite of rooms we had were certainly spacious but we did feel that they were looking... more

We had three nights at Baile na Cille at the end of July. We enjoyed ourselves enormously. The setting is glorious especially in sunshine which we were lucky enough to have, Jo and Richard were so knd and helpful providing uo with a top sheet and blanket as we loathe duvets. Although this was requested beforehand at two other hotels... more

When I enquired about the availability and price of two single rooms, Richard Gollin (the owner) emailed back to say "there is no single room supplement nonsense at Baile-na-Cille" so my friend and I got a double room with en suite bathroom for a very reasonable £45 per person per night. Baile-na-Cille is certainly a very unusual guest house in... more
