Located on the bluff overlooking the picturesque town of Tobermory, this inn is a hidden treasure. Impeccable food, rooms, and service. Would definitely stay here again. more

We stayed at Highland cottage for only one night and wished we could of stayed longer. The hotel has lovely views over the bay as it is set on a hill so there is a steep walk from the main street but that doesnt put you off. It is so peaceful and when we were there the weather was superb.... more

We arrived here by accident whilst looking for an eaterie in Tobermory. The B&B is in a quiet location in a quaint little old cottage (but close to town) and we would not have found it, but for a recommendation from another hotel, which was fully booked. We felt like we'd stumbled on a hidden gem. The hotel retains its... more

We just had a great weekend at Highland Cottage; Jo and David's wonderful hospitality and the fantastic food made it a stay to remember. Mull is gorgeous, even when its raining stair rods which it did for most of the weekend! And Tobermory is a picture perfect town with good walks - and good pubs. The sun finally deigned to... more

I had reserved for two nights and was initially skeptical about the B&B. However, it did not take long for David to make us feel very welcome despite us arriving very late. The smell of dinner as we arrived was very welcoming. Food was great. Loved the breakfast - the home made yogurt and Jo's scrambled egg and salmon was... more

Am a bit bemused by all the arrogant, etc comments. I would say that David and Jo were very welcoming, pleasant, chatty and perhaps a little eccentric. But I found that to be part of the charm of this lovely accommodation. The quirkiness and coziness was what made it. It was like staying in someone's house and being treated like... more

When I booked the rooms for myself and friends, I was told that only "small, standard rooms" were available. If the ones we had were small or standard, then I cannot imagine what the larger or more luxurious were like. They were lovely. Chock full of interesting books, furniture and ornaments but not in an over-the-top manner, more like the... more

We stayed at the Highland Cottage for two days on 22 and 23 April 2009 and really enjoyed ourselves. Jo and Dave are really wonderful hosts - nothing is too much trouble. We arrived quite early but were checked in and provided with tea in the guests lounge which has sea views. Our room was immaculate and the bathroom pristine.... more

Highland Cottage is a boutique hotel in the heartland of island bijou. Not understated, not under valued - but a good quality hotel with touches that make it above the rest. It is expensive. But Highland Cottage promotes something special in Scotland - individuality. This hotel is not for corporate style seekers. But for people who search for the unusual... more

We had not read any reviews of the Highland Cottage before booking and had chosen to stay there only because of the details shown on the Internet. We were absolutely delighted by our choice. From the friendly greeting upon our arrival to the moment of our departure we were well treated and, because we stayed for 4 nights, we were... more
