very handy for sightseeing round western part Skye but suffers from vicious midges like rest of island. Can turn up and will probably get pitch (must book for electric) as the 6 Italian motorhomes did at 8.50 p.m. on a Friday night then, as usual, tried to park in big huddle in centre! Spent one wet and wind night here!! Oh it was miserable but not the campsite, just the weather :( Was really disappointed not to see Dunvegan in all it's glory but I can imagine what it would be like to sit outside my tent watching the sunset with a cold cider! as regular visitors to skye we would recommend kinloch campsite, its a family friendly place, the showers and toliets are nippin clean, great views of the loch and a good base to tour the island from. 5 STARS more

This is the best campsite I've ever stayed in. The owner is great (even if he does look a bit like Russ Abbott....) and very helpful. This is the cleanest, quietest, most scenic campsite. The showers are clean, hot and free! The site is right on the sea shore with great views over Loch Dunvegan. There is a little bakery... more
