We did have a little bit of trouble finding the accommodation as we were expecting it to be in the town of Dunvegan itself when it fact it’s a few miles outside. The house is reached by way of an unpaved road, although the surface is decent enough and you’re not going to need a 4x4 to get to it. Once you’ve found the sign on the main road turn off and keep following the track right to the end. After a short while we were beginning to wonder if we’d ever find the house as it seemed as if we were driving into the middle of nowhere but all of a sudden it appears over the crest of a small hill and you’ll find a white house in a lovely location right next to a river with sheep and chickens for company.

The owners were lovely. Very friendly and helpful, providing us with homemade cake when we arrived, suggesting places to eat out and generally really seemed to want to make us feel at home. Our room was very nicely decorated and extremely comfortable with a view from the window onto... more
