We stayed here for two nights as part of our 5 day coach tour. We received a very warm welcome on arrival from owner/manager/chef Ian and were sent on an "adventure" to our room (the MacKay Room) in the Garden Lodge. The room was overall clean and comfortable with a view out over the garden. The wee decanter of whisky... More

Stayed just one night - last minute booking and we had to find somewhere which would accommodate our small dog. First glance of hotel , grounds lovely but from front door looked run down, but don't be fooled - the interior is old fashioned but warm and welcoming, as was the host, and nothing was too much trouble. Dinner was... More

Easy to find and nicely surrounded by beautiful gardens you get a nice feeling straight when you see the hotel. Kind staff where really helpful, borrowed us walking guides, cheese slicers and restaurant menus and let us really feel that you are here to relax and just ask if you need anything. Common room with lot´s of books and fireplace... More

This hotel is perfectly located for an early escape from Skye. On first sight, you will be taken by the incontrovertible problems which any hotelier would have in keeping this 1929 property looking spic and span….it just cannot be done. Accepting the slightly decrepit certainty you enter by half a door (I never got the other half to open but... More

This country house is incredibly beautiful on the inside. On a cold and windy night in Skye, it felt amazing to have pushed the door open to house like this one. The furnishings were pretty and the tartan carpet perfected the look of the place. As we made a couple of wrong turns along the way and were quite worried... More

Arrived unbooked off-season (not booking as not sure we needed to stay in Skye), but checked booking.com which said same number of double rooms available (3) as had been that morning and the night before - lady looked up (?down) at me and said All Rooms were booked (I'm mid-50's and don't look like a rowdy hooligan!). I said I... More

Stayed here for three nights in march15-17th. We were travelling with our dog Meg and we were made very welcome. The rooms are clean, comfortable and warm. The breakfast is great. Also dinned in the restaurant one evening and had a lovely meal. Herons nesting in the trees in the hotel gardens. Fantastic! A great place to stay and enjoy... More

We were with friends on a train trip and arrived at the hotel at around 8.45pm. We had let the hotel know this but nonetheless they kept the kitchen open so we could have an evening meal. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and couldn't have been more helpful. The bedroom was comfortable and the breakfast, whilst a little slow,... More
