We stayed for three nights at Greenacres in Portree at the beginning of August, during the highland games. The B&B is a nice place (though the decor is a little bit kitsch). The owners were really friendly and the breakfasts were very good. The room was comfortable, with a nice view, but a little bit small (difficulties to pack 2... more

A wonderful home with scenic view, probably the best in all our trip in Scotland. The room is spacious, clean and beautyful; the breakfast excellent, the dining room wonderful. The best!!! more

We were supposed to be camping on Skye but the awful weather meant it was easier to find a b&b. We were first in Feochan which is right beside Greenacres but unfortunately John and Anne couldn't accomodate us for all 3 nights. We spent the next 2 nights in Greenacres. The previous reviews about the quirkiness of the rooms were... more

Having stayed at hundreds of B & B's in the UK over many years, The Greenacres B & B in Portree has to be in our top ten establishments, superb views, clean crisp bed sheets, nice little touches like cotton buds etc, loads of parking space and handy for everything. Marie the hostess was charming and helpful. Would we go... more

We have just checked this website to book our trip to the West Coast and Skye this summer. We are rather suprised at Mike Luton's strange earlier review as this was the best Guesthouse we stayed at during our tour last year. Greenacres is a pleasant 5-minute walk away from the village centre, and sits on a prominent finger of... more

Having stayed in the Greenacres Guest House on the night before my wedding in July 2008 I can only say that the reception and treatment given to myself, my Best Man and Groomsman was nothing short of excellent. The accomodation, the setting, the management and the food were all out of this world. I would heartily recommend this Guest House... more

This establishment is an example of the backward thinking minority of people quite happy to take money from the public with out recognising their legal obligations. The owners refused admission to two men on the basis that their "conscience" would not allow them to accept two men staying. What on earth their imaginations led them to think was going to... more

We live in the UK and booked direct by email with Greenacres Guest House for a one night stay early June 2008. We were doing a mini tour of Mull and Skye over a few days. In summer it's pretty difficult to find decent accommodation in the right place in the Western Isles of Scotland as all the good ones... more

The location of the B&B itself is sensational, you have great view over the bay and Portree. As the Guest House has a winter garden you can sit inside and enjoy the sunset and the view even if it is chilly outside. Even though the rooms (and the gardens etc.) were kitschy, the rooms were clean and breakfast was average,... more
