Four of us visited for a 3 course meal, all eating different things, and we all left happy. The place was full - no reservations allowed, if there's no space, you wait for a table to clear. The high spot was the Langoustines my partner had. I love the things but can't be bothered with all that trouble having to... more
From the Isles Inn web site, we were expecting a clean, bright room to stay in. But our room was actually dark and on the edge of dirty. Everything was shabby and not well kept. We realized that we were renting a room in a pub, but we did expect it to be clean. We stayed an extra night on... more
What can I say, I have checked the diary no-one in september checked in for 2 days and checked out earlier! We have reviews, on this site, from people who stayed around the same time and they were great. I realise that we cannot please everybody but we do honestly try! I realise also that these people must have been...
My wife wanted to include the Isle of Skye into our last trip as her forebears hail from there. I agreed under duress. (Who's the boss then?). I expected hairy koos and lots of rainy weather. We arrived via the Harry Potter train (Fort William to Mallaigh on the "Lord of the Isles" steam train), then ferry to Armidale, bus... more
Thankyou, glad you had a great time, please come again!
We did not stay at The Isles, but we did eat there every night of our stay on Skye. The food at the pub is among the best we had in Scotland, and very reasonably priced. What a pleasant surprise for such an unassuming place. I cannot speak to the accommodations, but I highly recommend that you eat there at... more
This was our first time visiting skye and wanted to stay in Portree where we were hoping there'd be a bit of nightlife to enjoy after a day of looking at hills! And we werent disapointed. The isles Inn has a lovely bar, real fire and we were treated to some live music from a ceilidh band! The accommidation itself... more
For god's sake quit moaning people! Myself and my partner read all of the reviews for the Isles Inn before we booked our stay so we knew exactly what to expect from our visit. The Inn's location is fantastic, everything you need is within walking distance. We were given room 3 which was clean and comfortable but in need of... more
We stayed in this Inn for one night on a Saturday.. I'd reviews the reviews on TA so wasn't expecting anything special but a friend had organised the accommodation for us (two couples) in advance. On checking in, we took the keys to a double room with four poster bed. Our friends had a family room with a double and... more
I do apologise for the typing on the original response, we bought a new board from Tesco, as mentioned most things come via the internet, unfortunately, it was not until I had sent the response that I noticed the board was not keen on typing r, t, l, e and 7 (bizarre I aggree), again I apologise, and I can...
Visited the Inn for a meal and stayed for pub for drink and entertainment (did not stay over). Food is well above average and indeed very good at a reasonable price. Service was good and cheerful despite being very busy. Service at bar was efficient and overall the pub had a great atmosphere. Accordian and drum combo playing traditional Scottish... more
We stayed at the Inn, and wished we had'nt. Arrived just after nine in the evening. told we were too late for food. given a key and told what room we were in. Had to ask the way. Staff seemed rude and uninterested. When we entered our room . It was so dingy, the so called four poster bed was... more
Unfortunately we have to have a closing time for the kitchen, if some-one advises they are going to be late we try to accommodate them these people did not and the kitchen was closed and the chefs gone. It is not a so called 4 poster - it is a 4 poster and I am sorry that they were unhappy...
