Mrs. Margaret MacFarlane's lovely B&B in Park Bernisdale is a modern house with a loch view. We arrived without a reservation after a horrible night in Portree. The en suite double was already booked, so we took the family room with private bath adjacent (not en suite). Everything was clean, warm and bright. At the nearby Skeabost Hotel, we hoisted a pint on the patio and later had "dinner in the conservatory" in classic Victorian fashion. The next morning the very gracious Mrs. M. cooked up a delicious breakfast and sent us on our way. This is a great "home base" for exploring the northwestern area of Skye. more
