We only stayed for one night and seriously wish we had booked at least another night. Booked as a result of the other reviews here and were not disappointed. As others have commented, the food is fabulous. The room was lovely. Clean, nice view, comfy bed. Lounge was a really cozy place to listen to the wind howling outside. the... more

Spent one night at the Glenview and cannot praise it enough. What welcoming hosts Kirsty and Simon are, they really go that extra mile for their guests. We had wanted to check if a local boat trip was running out of Portree that day and Kirsty kindly lent me their phone to call (mobile coverage not too good there!). In... more

The Glenview is a real gem. You are made to feel very welcome the moment you step inside. This former croft house has great character and is tastefully decorated in a fitting contemporary style. The staff put everybody at their ease and you were made to feel special. The food is absolutely superb - we had beautiful mutton and salmon... more

This small hotel run by a young couple is a real find. The food cooked by Simon is imaginitive and beautifully presented. The locals come and eat here and that is no surprise. There is a choice of two dishes for each course and the problem is deciding which you must forgo since you know both will be lovely. The... more

We stayed at the Glenview with our 'tweenage' sons for 3 nights in the Easter school holidays. The location is stunning and Kirsty and Simon proved attentive and welcoming hosts. The hotel has been undergoing refurbishment since they took over and re-opened in 2008, and has a lovely relaxed ambience. The cosy residents' sitting room is mercifully media-free, and the... more

We stayed for 3 nights in May 2009. Kirsty and Simon are fantastic hosts and Simon's food is wonderful. We had dinner each night (why go elsewhere?) and breakfasts were excellent too. The Glenview is well situated for walks to the Old Man of Storr and the Quirang. Kirsty even tumble-dried our wet coats and overtrousers when we got wet... more

Simon and Kirsty were so welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much bother. We took our 4 month old son and they couldn't have been more helpful - even supplying a travel cot for us. The rooms are gorgeous (they have updated them since the website went live) and certainly the one we were in was of an outstanding quality.... more

If you want to stay somewhere extremely welcoming with excellent food and very comfortable accommodation then Glenview should be your first choice on the Isle of Skye. We stayed here for 3 fantastic nights and couldn't have been better looked after. Kirsty and Simon, the owner-managers, are professional and extremely enthusiastic hosts and go that extra mile to make sure... more
