Ditto to all the appreciative comments here--Janet and Robin are at the top of hospitality on Skye. This review, though, is to encourage public transport travellers--don't be afraid to step soldierly into the wilds of the Bernisdale/Loch Snizort area. Service is close to the door and warm welcome of Hillcroft. Walks in the rain (I was wet all the time)... More

The best B&B on Skye. Run by a lovely couple who look after you. Great breakfast with home-made bread n everything. Ducks n chickens wandering down toward the sea loch. There are 3 rooms but only only one has the sea view. Make sure you get it, but even if you don't, this is a real treat. More

As part of our week tour of scotland in october, we spent a day on skye, having not booked any lodging we decided to stay over night, so we stoped at the first b&b that had vacancies and it was a very pleasant surprise, Hillcroft B&B at Treaslane by portree over looking a loch and run by Robin and Janet... A previous reviewer noted many of the small extras that make Hillcroft so charming. In addition to the items that reviewer noted, a warm fire in the guest lounge welcomes guests each evening. An extensive collection of maps and guide books helps the traveler plan the day. Robin and Janet are very knowledgeable about the area and have excellent suggestions... More

Skye is spectacular and Janet and Robin are warm and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hillcroft, their tastefully renovated croft overlooking atmospheric Loch Snizort. Janet was a wonderful host, we appreciated our cozy fireside chat in the evening, and the first morning when we mentioned haddock would be nice for breakfast unfortunately it was unavailable, however Janet took... We never ever go to the same Bed and Breakfast twice. This was the first time we have booked the same B&B for the second time. And to be honest: We will be back. Visiting Janet and Robin is like visiting old friends. We have been to many B&B's in Scotland and this is definitely the best. It is not... More

As others have mentioned, the owners, Janet and Robin, have created a very comfortable guest house with many little extras like bottled water, fruit and candy in the bedrooms. The one thing I took special note of was the extra power strips for charging up all those little devices we seem to travel with these days and the WiFi connection... More

Janet and Robin make their guests feel very welcome; tea/coffee and shortbread on arrival. Rooms of adequate size with comfortable beds. Benefits from a guest lounge with open fire! All guests share one table for breakfast which we liked. Good breakfasts. More

Hillcroft's owners Janet and Robin will make you feel more than at home in this beautiful Bed and Breakfast overlooking Loch Snizort. Look for all the special "extras" provided for you in the room---bottles of still water; a jar of British candies; fruit to take along in your backpack on your hikes to the Fairy Glen and Kilt rock. Did... More

My boyfriend and I stayed for two nights in September. This was by far the best B&B of our 10-day holiday around Scotland, if not the best I've stayed in full stop. We were offered a cup of tea and shortbread upon arrival which was a really nice touch. The owners had thought about everything and our room was decorated... More
