Booked it via Celtic Castles who claimed to have given a discount but prices through Laterooms are much better. The property is at a great location and externally it is a beautiful structure however the interiors are in need for some urgent attention. We had booked a Loch view room however the front office said we were upgraded to Palace Rooms which was without the Loch view. We insited on the earlier room but I am still not sure that the woman on the desk understood anything we said. Anyways we finally settled in the "upgraded room" only to find that 3 bulbs on various lamps were not working. The room also had a damp smell. However the saving grace to the property is the gardens around. There are lovely short walks but to use this you don't necessarily need to stay at the property. Breakfast was another sad experience. Though the Loch facing tables were free, the staff insisted they are reserved for guests for breakfast. This was at about 10.00 am and nobody turned up when... more
