1.Alan & Fiona make you feel very welcome - nothing is too much trouble. 2. Room is well appointed, equipped and the bed comfortable - after a days walking very welcome. I stayed in room 8, wonderful view west along Loch Inchard. 3. Food is great, sourced local ingredients with a varied menu. Busy, always a good sign. well stocked... more

I recently spent 5 nights at the Old School Restaurant & Rooms. The first 3 nights I was on my own and then a family member joined me for the last two nights. What a fantastic place in such a remote part of Scotland! I wasn't sure what to expect on the drive up but had read other reviews on... more

Stayed once again at the Old School Restaurant and Rooms, Inshegra, by Kinlochbervie and was not disappointed. Room was fantastic with a lovely new comfortable bed and new tv. Breakfast was also fantastic and filled you up! Owners and staff are so friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back. more

If it was anything to go by then i'd be happy to stay there too! We were staying in Scourie having gone on a last minute trip up north (unfortunately we left it a bit late and when i'd phone the Old Schoolhouse they didn't have any rooms left). But we drove up here to have dinner and i'm really... more

We stayed here for 3 nights on a motorbiking tour of scotland and were very pleased. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly and all the staff likewise. The service was very efficient at all times. We had an ensuite double with sea view and the room was very clean and with a lovely comfortable bed and a well stocked... more

Myself and partner stayed here in August on a short tour of the NW Highlands, and thoroughly emjoyed our stay. The rooms are located in a purpose built building next to the Old School House itself. Our room was very clean with a good bed, and nicely decorated with WS TV and great Tea & Coffee with mineral water and... more

A one-night stay, pre-booked, turned out to be great idea. This place is quite on its own, with Kinlochbervie and its two bars about two miles further up the road. That said, the purpose-built annex containing bedrooms is very clean, light and airy, with good shower-rooms, all providing views to the sea-loch and ocean beyond. A burn (babbling brook) runs... more

On arrival we were slightly worried, as just a few hundred yards down the road is what can only be described as a scrap yard. This has apparently been there for a number of years, but do not let it put you off staying. We were a little early checking in so the room was not ready, but we were... more

The only decent place to stay in this stretch of the far NW Highlands. The rooms are very nice, you get a great welcome from the owners but the restaurant is a big disappointment. This matters in a place where there is simply nowhere else to eat. We were really looking forward to some seafood but were hugely disappointed to... more

Management response from
Alan Donaldson, Owner

It is disappointing to hear that someone has not enjoyed their meal with us particularly after the event with no opportunity given to rectify the situation. The only seafood platter we offer is £15.95 and contains a selection of smoked and cured fish/seafood from throughout Scotland, therefore not sold as a fresh seafood platter. It comprises of Salar salmon from...
