We can't fault what David & Elizabeth have done with Bruarch Ard. Obviously they aren't responsible for the phenominal views over Loch Ewe - but they had the sense to pick the place. Their rooms are large, modern, spotlessly clean and comfortable with lots of thought having gone into the details. They are both pleasant & welcoming hosts with Elizabeth... more

This accommodation is about 4 miles from Poolewe along Loch Ewe with the most fantastic views across Assynt. It is an extremely well equipped B&B with a great sitting room with large window and outstanding views. Lots of hill walking magazines, books, Cds etc and plenty of tea, coffee, fresh fruit, chocolates available 24/7. Rooms are spotless and breakfast is... more

We received a very warm welcome. The house has a cosy lounge. The view across Loch Ewe is fantastic. We had dinner at Bruach Ard, which was absolutly delicious. In the morning we had a full scottish breakfast, which was also very good. Alltogether it was a very nice stay. more

We searched for this B & B quite last minute having changed our plans for where we wanted to stay. Having worked our way north through Connel and then Portree and experiencing very poor accommodation, we were nervous about the Bruach Ard being much the same. It turned out to be perfect, the room was modern and immaculate, the welcome... more

Beautifully situated overlooking Loch Ewe 5miles outside the little village of Poolewe, this charming b&b is an excellent option for staying in the NW highlands. Very friendly and helpful hosts, tasty breakfast, comfortable rooms. They do their own range of outdoor clothing, too - great souvenirs! more

Spotlessly clean, comfortable beds with good linen, excellent breakfast with local ingredients freshly cooked, friendly, knowledgeable hosts who made me feel really at home, and most of all those incredible views at breakfast of my favourite West Coast mountains. Anyone thinking of starting a similar venture should visit Bruarch Ard for tips on how to do it properly! Everything, from... more

I spent 18 days in Scotland; my stay at Bruach Ard was the highlight of my trip. The scenery, and especially the 4 mile drive from Poolewe to Inverasdale, will take your breath away. David and Elizabeth were welcoming, considerate and very helpful in both suggestions for hiking and putting the local area in historical context. The meals were spectacular.... more
