We stayed here on 6/9/08, We would not have stayed past our first impression if we had not known that we had no hope of finding any where else in the area to stay that night and we had to stay locally because of business obligations the next day. This is not a hotel it is a bar with rooms. It wants to be a hotel and someone has done a good job of creating a smart restaurant space upstairs;but you enter by a stair case which opens on to the back of the bar and leads to a reception office and corridor which could be from the 1930's were there not a computer there! This hotel is set in the little picturesque town of Kirriemuir. We travelled there to see family and some of the local glens. This is a great hotel providing exactly what you would expect of a hotel this size and location. The owner, Glynn, was there for whatever we needed. The Manager, Lynn, is a reassuring sight and more than willing to help with anything we needed. One of the great features in this hotel was the restaurant, which is in the main hotel. Open every lunch and evening, as well as breakfast for residents. The food was nothing short of excellent. A great choice on the menu, and off if you wanted something a little different. The chef is also onsight and very friendly. The restaurant staff, mainly the head waitress, Kayleigh, was one of the nicest waitress' I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. All in all this is a brilliant little hotel with great staff and atmosphere. more
