We stayed here on 6/9/08, We would not have stayed past our first impression if we had not known that we had no hope of finding any where else in the area to stay that night and we had to stay locally because of business obligations the next day. This is not a hotel it is a bar with rooms. It wants to be a hotel and someone has done a good job of creating a smart restaurant space upstairs;but you enter by a stair case which opens on to the back of the bar and leads to a reception office and corridor which could be from the 1930's were there not a computer there! The tatty impression was increased because we arrived at the end of a football match screening in the function room and during the Folk festival. The noise level was intolerable. There was no parking. Our room was down a back alley and outside the main building .There were dog turds by the door and the smokers from the bar sat at the top of the alley shouting at each other over the the noise.
