The delightful setting of Dunvalanree is the icing on the cake - from the offer of tea and coffee served in the lounge with homemade shortbread when we arrived, to the delicious dinner and breakfast cooked freshly to order and the attention to detail in the bedroom, our stay was outstanding. If you are looking to get away from it... more

We were greeted by the owner of this "cottage" that looked more like a shed from the outside. He commented on the state of the outside woodwork and said it had been prepared for painting, but having said that, photographs from two years earlier showed it looking exactly the same! After an eight hour journey we thought of the woodburning... more

Dear K & H We are devastated at your posting and very sorry you had such a horrible time – and what a catalogue of complaints! We were only next door, but obviously not approachable. The first point to be answered is why you have posted your comments on the Dunvalanree pages when you never set foot in the hotel....

This is a most belated posting to say how much we enjoyed our few days at Dunvalanree, back in April. It was a return to very familiar surroundings for us, but we had not stayed in Dunvalanree for many years. It was truly fabulous - the hospitality, the amazing food, the comfortable rooms, the relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely return... more

Hosts Alan and Alyson create a relaxing and sociable atmosphere which makes guests feel immediately welcome and at home. The food is nothing short of delicious. Alyson, who does the cooking, uses a superb variety of local produce to create menus with flair and... more

We arrived early June to spend five nights and four full days at Dunvalanree. As we drove down the "B Ways," we kept repeating to one another, "This place had better be good!" It is a superb house-lovely people there (Milstead family and staff), one of Nature's finest sites (tiny bay, great geology and easy to hike about) and a... more

My Wife and I stayed at Dunvalanree for a week at the end of May. A superb location at the small secluded Port Righ bay on the East of Kintyre, made this hotel a perfect vacation venue. The Hotel is part of the Scottish Seafood trail and is rightly in receipt of many awards. The food was magnificent. Everything cooked... more
