A friend and I have just returned from a week travelling around Scotland and one of the places we stayed at was Gillean Brighde on Loch Awe which was lovely. Peter and Pauline run the B & B which is a ranch style house. We had a large modern room with an ensuite bathroom (lovely shower!) and the use of a lounge/dining room specifically for guests, which means you can chill out in the evening if you don't fancy going out. The views over the Loch were fantastic and the hospitality even better. Lovely breakfast including freshly squeezed OJ and fresh fruit and yoghurt on top of the usual cooked brekkie. It was like staying with friends rather than at a B&B. Have fallen in love with Argyll and will definitely go back, when I do, I'll stay at Gillean Brighde again.
