We stayed at this hotel overnight on sat - sun. This is a family run hotel which is local to everything. We are a very young couple who enjoy walks and socialising in the pubs and this was a great place. We have stayed here on a number of occassions now and would always go back. The Stag charges £60 per night for a double room and claims to have a 2 star rating. We stayed for two nights on the second floor and couldn't wait to get away. Stayed 2 nights at Hogmanay. 2 star rooms, basic but clean. £30/night B&B.Tv and phone. Bath but no shower (but our friend's room did.) Staff friendly especially the waitress. Very good food. Good portions but limited choice. Great prices. Good selection of malt whiskies. A good choice for those on a budget. more

The hotel looks nice on their web pages and they charge the same as any other hotel BUT the rooms are very basic and the carpets should have been renewed some years ago, they have signs on entrance doors saying that any stains in the bed linnen will be charged for? Hotel states that it has a 2 star rating. more
