We stayed for 3 nights during a tour of western Scotland and north of England and can honestly say this was the best B&B for comfort, friendliness and all round service without being intrusive. Breakfasts were very good and as commented by a previous correspondent the wine glasses were put to good use! The availability of WiFi was an added... more

We stayed at Lichen Burn for our mini-honeymoon and can highly recommend it. Beautiful house and garden, very friendly and warm welcome! The room was lovely, large, very clean, comfortable and modern and it had everything we needed (including lots of storage space for our wedding presents). Rosemary supplied us with a lot of information on local restaurants and sightseeing... more

What a relaxing week we had with Rosemary and Chris, the room and the breakfast were excelent. Rosemary advised us on the local area, where to eat and what activities we would enjoy, she never failed to give good advise. The wine glasses that were availible in our room hit the nail on the head. Rosmary provided a great setting... more

The accomodation is excellent, modern and spotlessly clean. We were greeted very warmly, tea and cake on arrival was a lovely start. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast very good, plenty of useful information about places to visit provided by Rosemary and Chris. It was very relaxing sitting and enjoying the wildlife. The food at the nearby Taynuitt Hotel also excellent and... more

What a lovely place to stay- we cannot fault it. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the location beautiful, and the service excellent. Rosemary met us with a tray of drinks and cakes (a real bonus in my book) and was very helpful about places to visit, with maps at hand. The accommodation, being two guest rooms opening onto the delightful... more

We have just returned from a New Year break in Scotland where we stayed at Lichen Burn for 2 nights before moving on to Glen Coe. The house is beautifully situated alongside a very attractive wooded stream in a quiet area. Our bedroom and en-suite bathroom were both very large, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. The huge bed was very... more

How refreshing to stay somewhere where the room and service was as described. Even though we arrived early Rosemary greeted us warmly and shortly after brought us a tray of tea, shortbread and fruitcake. What a wonderful welcome. Rosemary even arranged a buzzard on the lawn to greet us! We can honestly recommend Lichen Burn to anyone who desires a... more

This is a delightful place to stay; the room we had for 5 nights was huge, tastefully decorated and equipped to the highest standard. The lovely setting makes one feel inclined to sip a glass of wine on the patio while watching the red squirrels playing rather than go for those strenuous walks. All of this is matched by the... more

We had a very relaxing and enjoyable break en route to the Isle of Harris, Lichen Burn is an excellent B&B in a very quiet location. The room (one of only two) was exceptionally clean, bright and comfortable, with plenty of room & comfortable chairs to sit and enjoy a glass of wine (bought from the village store, Ian had... more

In Taynuilt for a world clan gathering, my wife, 2 friends & I booked the 2 downstairs bedrooms for 6 nights this past July. The rooms are brand new, spotless with huge bathroom. Each room gives out to a patio with access to the backyard where birds & red squirrels are to be seen. Upon arrival, Rosemary greeted us with... more
