We had a fantastic Halloween break here. Spent a great night in the bar. Everyone - the staff & guests put on fancy dress. Food good. Blazing fires. This is an authentic (slightly ramshackle, but clean) hotel. Don't go here if you want to stay in a typical bland, sterile & soulless hotel. This is the real McCoy - don't... more

Called in, whilst walking the West Highland Way, for a night. Great atmosphere and original 'olde' type pub. Food was great, large portions! Staff we attentive, beer and whisky plentiful and it was the quiz night, we enjoyed it immensely! more

We stayed 1 night as part of a tour of Scotland to meet old friends. The food was good and the pub was cosy with huge fires blazing at either end of the room. However, thats the only positive I can find to mention. The Ladies toilets were extremely cramped with wet floors! The entrance and other side rooms were dingy and tacky... more

Can see where some of these reviewers are coming from, but ....... We stayed on a low season 3-4-2 deal (nights that is!!) and at £23pp B&B we were quite satisfied. 4 poster room. Old furniture. Modern ensuite. Warm. Plenty of hot water. No problem with water pressure. No problem with noise. Bar food at southern prices but generous portions... more

I was a bit worried about staying in the Drover's as it looks old and run down...however, I was very pleasantly surprised! The staff were lovely, our room-The Breadalbane Suite- was basic with an antique bed and chandelier and it was clean and well presented. The ensuite bathroom was small but clean and great value for money. It was a... more

As 4 middle aged travellers, we had a great time at the Drovers. The young staff were really helpful, although the stairs were a bit steep. Loved the bar ambience, staff (Aussies mainly) in kilts with music after dinner. Meals were average but acceptable and reasonably priced. Rooms were quirky but clean - the place is 300 years old -... more

Went to this hotel for fun and a laugh and that is what we got. Would not like to stay there myself creepy although my sister slept in a room on the top floor and had a good sleep and did not see any ghosts. Brave lass. Busy lounge everyone having fun. Do not go to relax. You won't. Most... more

We nearly drove past this 300 year old building as it looked abandoned and derelict! It would benefit from some work inside & out. Getting rid of all the dusty ..stuffed animals and birds would be a start. The staff were friendly and the food was good. The rooms across the road were clean and adequate, but the guests next... more

We stayed here for one night on the West Highland Way. I was a bit concerned having read the other reviews but I really liked it. The place has definite character, the staff were friendly and its just totally different to anywhere else. We had a room in the Lodge which is over the road from the main building. The... more
