My wife and I visited Portnellan over New Year, for a well-deserved break. We were very impressed Portnellan and specifically the great length that Cameron and Elaine both went to, to ensure that we had a great time while visiting. The lodge (Pinemarten) was great, and had great views. Everything was clean, tidy and in-order. Despite being winter, the lodge... More

Myself and my husband wanted to spend new year with our kids and their partners and 2 of our friends and we couldnt have done it... More

Thank you Family Dickson. It is very kind of you to take the time and leave a review on Tripadvisor. Your comments are gratefully received. You are correct. Ghillies is a wonderful lodge for a family gathering with lots of space and comfort. I'm glad to read your family approved of a Hogmanay celebration in the luxurious surroundings of Ghillies... More

What a fantastic place! We have been to many places in the world but nothing matches this one. Fabulous accomodation, wonderful scenary & A1 hospitality. We had a weekend ( last weekend -Dec 1st ) but wished it was for at least a week. As soon as we arrived Cameron explained everything and nothing was too much trouble!. We felt... More

We have just returned from a 1 week honeymoon at Portnellan. We stayed in the Raven lodge which had spectacular views of the loch and mountains. The lodge itself could not be faulted and provided the facilities for a home from home experience..... fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, dishwasher, flat screen tv, sky, wii, access to games & dvds etc.... The facilities in the lodge in which we stayed could not be faulted (apart from the wardrobe door which didn't slide). It was clean, the kitchen facilities were excellent and the information pack provided for walks and drives in the area was incredibly useful. Cameron and his father were also very helpful when we asked about walks and loaned a... More

I was a mite disappointed to read your review of your dealings with us because, quite clearly, there has been a wee bit of misunderstanding on your part and I think it is important, not just for us but for yourself to clarify this perceived situation. I propose to deal with your minor comments first viz:- "the wardrobe door didn't... More

Stayed in Ptarmigan in October with my boyfriend and another couple. What a lovely, relaxed weekend. It rained solidly mind you but that was the perfect excuse to sit in, enjoy the outstanding view and make mojitos! Rooms were very comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed to cook some slap up meals :-) Nice selection of board games/dvd's etc which... More

I booked at Portnellan through Itison, which did cause problems as it was hard to get suitable dates. Although the voucher was for 4, it seemed I could only be offered accommodation for 2-3 or be prepared to pay more for a bigger lodge; the 1st upgrade Cameron offered was priced at such a high rate we would have been... I don't no what I was expecting when we arrived but I was so pleasantly surprised. It was so easy to find and Cameron and his wife were so friendly and showed us to the cabin. It was dark so we couldn't enjoy the scenery quite yet so we settled into the cabin. Our dog settled i'n very quickly with... More

My husband and I, plus our two Labs, have stayed at various lodges within the Portnellan estate for over four years and we have thoroughly enjoyed every single trip. We cannot list one single fault. Yes, the broadband is limited.....yes, there might not be the Sky channels you are used to but you don't visit this beautiful part of Scotland... More
