Stayed here for the weekend as wanted to explore Loch Lomond. The hotel was great in terms of location as we could easily travel to the National Park, Balloch and Stirling plus there are some nice places to drink and eat in the village of Dryman. The breakfast was amazing, the leisure club is great, the staff are friendly and... more

Wanting to stay somewhere special for my son's wedding booked family and friends into this hotel as their website stated "luxury" hotel. What a disappointment. The ground floor smelt of smoked kippers which permeated the lounge areas for 2 days. The bedrooms were filthy and bedding and towels worn. the rooms were not serviced every day. It was expensive and... more

We had this hotel booked well in advance of our trip but were pondering whether to cancel due to some of the reviews. However, thankfully we decided to give it a go and we were more than pleased that we did. The restaurant is first class (food and service) and very well priced. The location is also excellent a short... more

Before one visits, this is not an ultra modern hotel. This is a traditional country retreat. The first feature is the original "creaky" stair at reception. One has now entered a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The manager is attentive and the staff, although young, are smart and efficient. The bedlinen and tablecovers are sparkling white. Overall the hotel is old but... more

My husband and I stayed at the Buchanan Arms for our 24th wedding anniversary and had planned the trip, the hotel and the amenities well in advance. We were a little put off by the negative comments posted on this website from previous guests but on balance we thought there was good and bad reviews, so we went ahead. We... more

We stayed in the Buchanan arms hotel 3 days for a friend's wedding in Drymen. The hotel staff were all very helpful and nice. The night manager even opened the bar for a few of us returning late (midnight) from the rehearsal dinner. (Yes, we only had a quiet nightcap so as not to disturb the guests.) The breakfasts were... more

We reserved what sounded like a great deal in a nice country hotel: dinner, bed and breakfast, with access to the spa for free. In reality, we paid far more than the given price since even though the dinner was included, many items on the menu had extra charges (in small writing below each suggestion). For example, we paid an... more

I was part of a large group of staying at the Buchanan Arms on Sat 25th April 2009 for the Murder Mystery dinner, bed and breakfast. The event itself was ok but the hotel was a nightmare with service and condition of the rooms worst of all. We had a triple room which was the same price as a twin... more

Had a short break at this hotel at the beginning of March. Bedroom was unimpressive (45) but the rest of the hotel was very nice: food was superb although service a little slow, very friendly staff and pretty location. more

Sorry for the late feedback on this hotel. Got married in the Buchanan Arms Hotel on 14 June 2008 and couldnt have asked for a better venue for my special day. The staff could not have been friendlier on the build up to the day and on the actual wedding day. The food was fantastic, the staff were very helpful.... more
