My husband and I stayed at the hotel between August 31st and September 3rd for a mini-break to visit Loch Lomond. The hotel is in a fantastic location if you are able to get around by car. Our bedroom was very dated and had a number of things wrong with it such as the towel rail falling off, the bathroom... more

We recently held our wedding at Buchanan Arms Hotel and could not fault any aspect of our stay or the service. The staff were pleasant and incredibly helpful from the point of booking to our departure. It’s important to remember it is a 3-star hotel and whilst some areas are perhaps a little ‘tired’ there are many aspects of the... more

Many thanks for taking the time to write a review of our hotel. As you say whilst the hotel is in need of some refurbishment there are many positive aspects which you highlight. I am pleased to say that the hotel will soon be under new ownership and there will be substantial investment in the hotel in the coming months....

The hotel is tired and in need of refurbishment but we enjoyed our 2night stay and would return in the future. The bedrooms are tired and could do with a bit more care in the way they are cleaned (dusty ledges etc) but the bed was comfortable and clean and the bathtowels etc changed daily. The leisure facilities are excellent... more

Thank you for your honest review of our hotel. I appreciate your constructive comments about the rooms and some of the areas which are looking tired in the hotel. There are many positive highlights in your review, our leisure club is an excellent facility and our restaurant has always enjoyed a great reputation for the standard of food we serve....

I have to echo the sentiments of the more up to date reviews of the Buchanan Arms and have an ironic chuckle at the Sales Manager's most recent response to a review... in turn my comments... "Dear Sir/Madam, I don't care about your demoralised staff & period of transition (that's your problem) I care about the £1100:00 I spent in... more

Beautiful location, nice pool area - ok that's the positives done. Rooms are in serious need of refurbishment, or even just a good scrub would help. Mouldy, dirty bathroom, peeling wallpaper, smelly carpet, stained matresses definitely not what was advertised on their website. Dinner was horrible, service terrible, bar ran out of most common drinks, breakfast was fine. Will not... more

We checked in intending to stay for 3 nights to enjoy the natural beauty of loch lomond. However, we cut our stay short as this is one of the worst hotels I have stayed in for a very long time. - This hotel claims to be a 3 star, it is anything but - The rooms have clearly not been... more

We are aware of your complaints and felt that it was resolved with the substantial refund we gave you before your departure. Obviously we are very sorry you did not have a more positive experience when you stayed with us and we're disappointed that you felt it necessary to post your comments along with photographs on Trip Advisor. The hotel...

Carry your bags yourself.....knackered hotel......restaurant, bar and leisure staff friendly.....obnoxious night porter who is a complete idiot......£60 quid a night each - would've been better staying in a tent. If you want to go hill-walking but don't need anything you'll be fine here! Filthy sink in the bathroom - heating that stayed on all night and couldn't be switched off.... more

How disappointing that you refer to the Buchanan Arms as being like Fawlty Towers. For a lot of the hard working and dedicated staff who work here it is disappointing and demoralising to read comments like this. The hotel is going through a period of transition at the moment but will be under new ownership in the foreseeable future which...

the entrance to the hotel is gorgeous, and the spa/pool/gym area is fantastic well equiped and modern, however the bedrooms were a letdown, we could live with the dated decor, but I have never slept in a bed as bad as this in my whole life, it was lumpy saggy and a bit wobbly, also the bathroom wasn't as clean... more

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights with some family members for a wedding and I have to say that we were very disappointed with the hotel. I checked in with my wife and mother and reception asked if we needed help with our luggage and I obviously answered yes and I was assured that some assistance would... more

We booked via the web....arrived at the Hotel and started to relax...we had a great couple of glasses of wine in the fab little bar, shame i dont drink Whisky... dinner was good.....the restaurant could do with an upgrade, but they started in several areas like the conservatory, lounge and spa...., if they carry on in the way they started... more
