I just returned home from a two night stay in Killin with a friend, and although exhausted from hiking and sampling whisky I am very happy with my visit. I called the B&B the day before our arrival to see if they had any free rooms, and lucky for us their family room was available. Michael was very helpful on... More

Chose the old smiddy for dinner as it was the no 1 in killin according to the reviews on trip advisor. We were late but that was no problem - food was fantastic and service was excellent. Then next day Michael and Lynn did us a huge favour which helped us on our way with our cycle trip. I cannot... More

We spotted the Fish and Chips sign when driving into Killin and returned to track this down later only to find a great little bistro with rooms. We were staying in our caravan but had forgotten to pack towels. Even though we weren't staying we were offered towels for the weekend so we reserved a table for the following evening.... More

We booked this great little place after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and were delighted. Super bijoux room overlooking the falls with a comfy bed, a decent dinner menu for hill walkers and some interesting whiskeys to sample! Very friendly husband and wife team who really do have a thriving business. I asked about gluten free options and would... More

Popped into the Old Smiddy for a family lunch and left with a chair. Yes, a chair. The lovely owner Lynn was looking for a home for a little wicker chair, and kindly asked us if we would like it for our little girls. This aside, I would still have given the Old Smiddy five out of five! The best... More

Checked in for 1 night over Easter weekend - charming service, really helpful and friendly, lovely room - clean and comfortable. Unfortunately couldn't eat in the bistro due to a group booking, but that's our fault for not booking and the owner did offer us an early sitting - we just went to the pub over the bridge instead which... We booked the Old Smiddy at last minute in late December, to attend a family funeral in Killin. Michael & Lynn kindly opened up 2 rooms for us & other family members, although the accommodation was officially closed for winter. We had front facing room overlooking Falls of Dochart. Ideal in summer, but room was, initially, bitterly cold, despite heating... More

Fabulous friendly welcome. There were 6 in our party and we all had lovely rooms with comfortable beds and ensuite facilities. In the restaurant we were treated to a great STEAK PIE, tasty roast pork & delicious fish 'n' chips in a light crispy batter. We all loved it and look forward to visiting again soon.

Stayed here for a couple of nights with friends to climb some of the beautiful mountains around Loch Tay. The reviews here are spot on - it's a fantastic little b&b and should be top of the list if you're considering a stay in the area. We've stayed all over the place on walking trips over the last five years... More
