We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Shore House Inn where the welcome was very warm and the food excellent. The style of the rooms pleased us: uncluttered, comfortable, clean, white and... a brilliant shower; though not at the front ( room 3), the view of the fells, behind, was breathtaking. To be honest it was one of the most... more

We've stayed in the Shorehouse several times during trips to Lochgoilhead and have always departed relaxed and happy. The restaurant serves super food and has a fabulous view from all tables. The bar is well stocked and includes our favorite real ales from local micro brewery 'Fyne Ales'. Over the last year we've stayed in three of the four bedrooms.... more

My partner and I stayed in room 3 this month and were really disappointed by the standard. The room was tiny and there were twin beds. We didn't think the twin beds would be a problem as we thought the room would be the same standard as the rest of the rooms but it was dull, dreary and dated. The... more

Oh dear, what a pity you were disappointed with the Shore House. We would always do our best to rectify things if guests were unhappy so it's rather frustrating to to receive anonymous critisism after the event. We strive to make the Shore House a pleasant venue for everyone so unhappy guests are the last thing we want. We intend...

Tucked away down a potholed lane this hotel is really a little hidden treasure. We stayed in room 2 (of only 4 in the hotel) - a comfy double with gorgeous views over the loch, though the shower is tiny. The hotel is very cosy and friendly with an excellent restaurant. Scallops were fantastic! The owners have cleverly installed a... more

Brilliant return trip, Food (& ale) terrific despite being short handed due to staff illness, nothing is too much trouble. The Right-of-way to the village is now Officially a 'Core Path' so you can walk right through from one side of the head of the loch to the other, no detours along the shore. more

My aunt and uncle stayed here for the weekend and the rest of our family stayed in SC accommodation close by. 13 of us had a celebratory 70th birthday for my mother in the restaurant. The menu is good with excellent home cooked, locally produced food and was enjoyed by all from the 9 year old up to the 70... more

The location is fantastic at the Head of Loch Goil, the view from our window being breathtaking. It has a nice bar & you can sit outside enjoying the view. The breakfast was lovely and the staff all helpful. Bedroom was nice enough although the choice of tv channels was poor. Free wi-fi was a big plus. If staying here,... more

My wife and I and our granddaughters have eaten here on numerous occasions over the last year but with the addition of a new chef in the last few weeks it's improved even more. With a large window looking down Loch Goil every diner has a wonderful view, even when weather's not so good. Versatile menu which is well cooked and... more

Another very enjoyable & successful trip to Lochgoilhead, dining again at the Shorehouse , and enjoying real ale from the local Fyne Ales Brewery and the music night. If anything, the food is even better than before, the home smoked salmon & smoked venison is fabulous, as is the venison steak, the halibut, and the pizzas. I would say booking... more
