5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 May 2013 NEW

We stayed at this charming hotel on the 5th May and really enjoyed everything about it. We came from the south and were heading north and the hotel is on the roadside of the A68 with ample space for car parking and there was no extra charge for this facility. We had a king size room with lots of space... More

On April the 12th 2013 my partner and myself stayed at the Buccleuch hotel for a 2 night stay. We arrived after a long journey and was pleased that there was plenty of secure parking. The reception staff were very friendly and answered all our questions. We were given room number 14 it was a nice big room and was... More

Very pleasant stay here ... The owners have put laid back but considerable effort into making the decor stylish and the bistro contemporary. There is a feeling that there is no resting on laurels given this is pretty much the only place to stay nearby so I have no hesitation in recommending. Lovely walks nearby

Another business visit to the borders and made so much more pleasant with our stay here. High ceilings, quaint and homely feel and good food to boot. Free wifi was a nice bonus, with plenty of space to chat business in comfort. Rooms nice and warm with all the creature comforts we expect. Best scrambled egg ever.....

We both stayed for a night recently to celebrate our anniversary, this was a good choice. Staff were lovely and although we did not eat an evening meal here we enjoyed a good breakfast, the room was good and enjoyed a few drinks in the bar which had a good atmosphere. Would certainly go back again and recommend to this... More

A hotel with potential but let itself down badly when I came down in the morning to find that there was no cook to make breakfast. Night receptionist was very apoligetic and managed to get me a mug of tea, but no chance of a decent cooked breakfast before the days business.

Dear Sir, I wholeheartedly agree with your reasoning with the breakfast issue that day. After investigating this, it appears that due to us being very quiet that morning the supervisor the previous night had asked all the evening guests as to what time they would be up and about for breakfast so as to save staff arriving at 6.00am for... Stayed at the Buccleuch Arms with colleagues last night. We were really impressed. Great location for us - right on A68. The staff were really friendly, especially the breakfast chef. My room wasn't huge but well appointed and comfortable. Shower great. Free wifi. The highlight is the food. We ate in the bar, though there is a restaurant and thoroughly... More

I recently stayed at this charming hotel on a business trip to the Scottish Borders. It is clean & friendly with a pleasant atmosphere. Didn't use the restaurant but breakfast was excellent and it is ideally situated for onward travel. Room facilities are ideal for an overnight stay and the bed was extremely comfortable.

Travelling a lot on business in Scotland we come across a lot of hotels that charge the earth & give you little. Not here, the owner is certainly trying. Great bar, restaurant/bistro. nice beadroom, super breakfast...try the kedgeree....pleasant helpful staff & look at those rates. We'll be back. MelH

Four of us had a very enjoyable lunch. I don't think I have ever had a better burger. it was delicious. The steak sandwich was huge and came with lots of extras. One of our party had the smoked salmon sandwich which was made with local bread. The service was very efficient and friendly. The real fire was a bit... More
