Could be a nice little hotel, we stayed for one nice for a nearby wedding. The room was just about ok, if you could ignore the hole in the pillow case but the ensuite was in need of an update and the sink replaced. We felt it was over priced for one night but just about acceptable. I'd recommend it... more

Under new ownership since Feb 2009 so perhaps the replacements for the very worn carpets and soft furnishings are in the post. But bins were not emptied before or during stay. Welcome was non-existent. Apparently we disturbed a cup of tea by arriving when we had phoned ahead to say we would arrive. One or our group had no drinking... more

I stayed one night and found the hotel charming. It is important to note that they are in the process of upgrading the rooms, so some rooms maybe dated - but in my experience clean and suitable. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff very friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to re-visit this hotel - in fact it... more

Staff were very friendly and helpful but in the 4 rooms we stayed in the beds were the worst I have "ever" tried to sleep on. They need to be replaced. Food etc. was great. If new beds I would concider returning. more

We arrived for our one night's stay at this hotel to be met by the most ignorant receptionist who told us our room wasn't ready and we had to wait, which was fine we understood we were a little early. We were actually staying at this hotel due to it's location (we were attending a wedding nearby). We explained this... more

I booked this hotel for a single room, one night stay in late May whilst on a business trip. When I made my reservation, the lady on the phone kept getting the date of my stay wrong, which I thought was just an eccentricity, but it was because they had no system! All their bookings are still paper based and... more

We stayed at this very comfortable hotel for a weekend break. The staff were very welcoming on arrival, even providing us with coffee in the guests lounge. We find this hotel very cosy with its settees and leather lounge seats and real fire in the grate. We had just booked bed and breakfast, but decided to eat in the hotel... more

Over-rated.

The location is ok but to be honest there does not seem to be much choice in the immediate area. The staff seem polite. The hotel has a dated and stuffy atmosphere but appeared clean. It seems a place more for the elderly. I overall found it disappointing and over-rated. At the restaurant we had steak which was very grissley... more

This older hotel was just perfect for us. It's in a small town between Stirling and St. Andrews, so provided a nice "home base" for us to travel from. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The building is older, and therefore has a lot of flair, which i like. Finally, the service was wonderful. There are two dining choices... more

This Hotel is an ideal place to stay while exploring Central Scotland. Its in a rural location, but just less than an hours drive to Edinburgh, Stirling, St.Andrews. The staff at the hotel are warm and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them to make your stay there as comfortable and memorable as possible. This place is so... more
