Had booked here to stay for Wickerman with my wife and teenage daughters - looks OK from outside but reception area looks pretty run down and seemed to be pub entrance as well. I sometimes use hotels in Scotland for business and I need an inexpensive but comfortable place to stay. The Pheasant Hotel in Dalbeattie is just such a place. No frills, basic accomodation, friendly, good bar downstairs and an excellent restaurant. I would return if in the area.
