stayed at the hotel this week as i was going salmon fishing on the river urr the next day, there isn't a car park , we parked round the corner but no problems.
the food in the restaurant was lovely, we had steak pie, fish and chips and cajun chicken, all well cooked and good portions, breaky was superb, full scottish. bryan i think the manager was very friendly and helpful.
dont go to this hotel expecting the ritz, its dated and the rooms are up a few flights of stairs, the deco is terrible in the room, old carpets and wardrobes etc but the place was clean.tv and tea making facilities in the room though.bathrooms are dated aswell but its cheap and cheerful, the bar downstairs has darts, pool, i think it has a jukebox and the prices are decent too, a pint of carling, pint bottle of magners and a gin and tonic cost £7.60 which i thought was fair.
we were only looking for somewhere for a few jars, a bit of grub and somewhere to sleep before fishing and this place was fine...
