We have been going to Portpatrick for many years now. This is by far the best B&B we have stayed at (and we have stayed in most of them!!!) A short walk down to the village with pubs and interesting shop. We will defenently be back in 2012 More

Spent a most enjoyable and comfortable October break at Maggie and Fred's. Their welcome and hospitality is really second to none. Maggie had even taken the time to research local gardens and opening times for our trip. (Thank you)! Their attention to detail and hard work is evident throughout their hotel in relation to comfort, catering and decor. Our en... More

not a lot more to be said after all the good reviews, except that they are all very accurate! Very welcoming, spotlessly clean & comfortable in a very homely fashion. The breakfasts are delicious, all you need & then more!! Thanks Maggie & Fred, we thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night break with you & loved the area around Portpatrick. More

This hotel is everything the book says it is - and more. Maggie and Fred were so friendly and helpful, the hotel is spotless and food excellent. We chose the Factors suite, which had windows overlooking the sea. The room was lovely, with plenty of space for a sofa and chair, the bathroom was large and the bathrobes were an... More

I took my mum to Rickwood for a birthday break and it was fantastic! I'd stayed at Rickwood before, so I had no hesitation in booking Rickwood again - wonderful hosts, a beautiful house, comfy accommodation and a beautiful situation over the town with views of the sea. A great base for exploring the area - loads of different things... More

My wife and I stayed at the Rickwood in the Factor's Suite for two nights as part of a mini tour of Dumfries & Galloway and we were simply knocked out by the wonderful room with its quite breath-taking views over the Irish Sea. Maggie and Fred are wonderful hosts and Maggie is some cook! The breakfasts were excellent and... More

Stayed here for just one night but were made to feel very welcome. Lovely position. The bed was extremely comfy and an excellent breakfasr - especially the porridge and bacon, banana, kiwi and maple syrup muffin. Can only highly recommend. More
