Hotel has been very tastefully refurbished and stands up well using any criteria. The decor and furnishings of all public areas are very modern, as are the bar and the restaurant. We have just returned from a 4 day weekend with Shearings Holidays (It is a Shearings Hotel). The hotel was excellent. It has just been revamped. All the public areas have had a grey/black/silver make over and it looks superb. The meals were excellent too. The staff couldn't do enough for you. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here. more

Had a 5 day all inclusive break at the Shearing's Portpatrick Hotel in March 2007, we were a party of 4 over 50's. Although the hotel could do with a modern overhaul, it was very well maintained, everything clean and tidy. Our rooms were quite spacious and had everything we needed.
