Spent a night at the Arisaig. Hotel looks better insdie as the exterior looks pretty shabby. The room was very clean and really couldn't be faulted. Bar and dining area fairly basic and the evening meal was pricey for what it was and lacked imagination in terms of vegetables ie steak and onion pie with frozen chips and peas! Service... more

This hotel should be a winner but it's not. The location is absolutely stunning, but the accommodation, bar and food are pretty poor. Perhaps the shortage of alternatives in the area has bred complacency? more

We stayed in a room with frosted glass in the window to hide the dismal view of the fire escape and kitchen extractor flue. It had probably last been decorated in 1974 on a tight budget. It was hot and stuffy - possibly from the kitchen and a second night would probably have led to a suicide pact. To make... more

I stayed in this hotel on saturday night. I arrived without a booking which was not a problem. We took 2 twin rooms which were clean and tidy. We decided to eat in the hotel. Arrived without a booking and was finally got a table in the bar. Staff not particularly friendly. Our food arrived and 3 of us found... more

Liked the place as I don't consider £50 per night too dear. Staff and locals friendly and welcoming. Enjoyed my meals but chef spat the dummy when asked to do a special meal for a lady at the next table who suffered from a food alergy. All she wanted was for her fish to be grilled on tin foil instead... more

Stayed 2 nights in The Arisaig Hotel and was absolutely delighted with the experience. Hotel staff couldn't have been friendlier, food was absolutely gorgeous and the local area was beautiful. Have fallen in love with the whole place, will definitely be back. more

As an update to a previous post, we went to the Arisaig Hotel looking for an evening meal recently (we are 2 adults and two kids).. We were non-residents and it was a busy Saturday night but there was no problem. We were welcomed in and had a good meal and good service, with a lovely view out over the... more

As it was our first trip to Arisaig in 5 years as we live abroad we decided to rent a cottage near by on the beach and thought we would eat out most nights, it was our turn to try Arisaig Hotel which was always very good before so we read the menu's on the window inviting us in and... more

I had a generously sized single on-suite room that overlooked the harbour. It was a warm room with a TV that only received 4 channels (Strangely not BBC 1), and the usual tea-coffee facilities (plus a biscuit!). Bedding was changed every day. Everywhere was very clean. The bathroom had a decent sized shower and plenty of hot water. Yes, the... more
