My wife and i went to Doune to celebrate our 31st Wedding Anniversary. I can say that from the moment we were meet at Mallaig by the boat (you can not drive to Doune, you must go by boat !!) the whole 4 nights /5 days were fantastic. After a 30 min boat trip we were met at the quay by... More

6 days diving off Mary Doune, with Andy (skipper) and Steve (crew) who gave us a wonderful week of richly varied diving from the sea lochs to the small islands. Back each day to be fed wonderful local food by Liz, with the help of young Canadian couple Matt and Kelly. The only downside was the midges - but if... More

After cycling and walking over from Inverie we were well ready for our pre-dinner drinks overlooking the Cullin hills on Skye. The dinner that followed was superb, home cooked fayre - everything was just so tasty and well presented. Our hosts were very friendly too. A truly magical spot and the 4 course set dinner is great value at £30... More

Been there with my partner for dinner. After a 2 hours walk from Inverie we arrived at this beautiful place. Liz is a fantastic chef. We had the best food ever and the service was super friendly. Well worth the effort of 2 hours walk. Thank you very much for giving us this experience.

A wonderful place to relax and enjoy top food. Andy, Liz, Martin and Jane do an amazing job for such a remote place on the West coast of Scotland. My wife and I have been twice on the Island hoping holiday and are booked again for 2012. Don't tell too many people about this wonderful destination, it might become too... More

I had dinner at the Doune dining room on a visit to Knoydart in May. The food is all fresh and home made, with a set menu, and the wine list prices were very good. The beauty of this place is the seclusion, so remote, and with amazing views out towards Skye. A fantastic dining experience, and to get there... More

I've been privileged to have been to Doune Bay Lodge for the past 6 years running. Martin, Liz, Andy and the rest of the team offer a magical experience in the wilderness of the Knoydart peninsula. I'm a diver and the sites operated by Andy are some of the best I've seen in the UK and well worth the 8... More

We turned up on spec following some heavy mountaineering in the north. It seemed a good idea to pop into Knoydart and we weren't disappointed. It seems we were very lucky to get any accommodation, let alone this excellent spot. I have very little to add regarding the service, food, location and accommodation already well expressed in the other reviews... More
