I didn't read the reviews before getting a room at the downtown Memphis Downtown Super8 (I chose it because it was $45) , but now that I have, I wonder if we're talking about the same place. My room is clean, no bloodstains, no monsters or anything else unpleasant in the bathroom, the coffee machine, a/c, tv and internet all... more

I have stayed in dozens of Super 8 hotels and this was one of the worst. My room was OK but the bathroom was beat up and the towels were very rough. The overall condition of the hotel was rather shabby with much deferred maintenance. The area surrounding the hotel had some rundown and abandoned buildings -- making it a... more

We stayed there and it was MILES from EVERYTHING! When we had called to reserve the room he told us that the building was over 50 years old but had been COMPLETELY re-modeled. NOT TRUE. Some stuff had been but not most. They had a young daughter working at the counter who knew nothing and couldn't even give me $2.00... more

The hotel's location is great for getting things done in Downtown Memphis and getting on and off the expressway, that is the best thing about this hotel. First of all the staff is very unfriendly, they are not helpful or even happy to have customers. If you ask for any "SO CALLED" amenities, you may get them and you may... more

If you are a budget conscious traveller, save your money and sleep in your vehicle! After spending 1 hr in my room, I checked out, got my money back and slept in the car. The bedding was stained, the bathroom was dirty, I shared the room with cockroaches, the lamp short-circuited and stopped working, and the room smelled horrible. more

This place was fine - was it a five star hotel - no. However, you get what you pay for! We were looking for a cheap place to stay - we got it! Comfortable bed, close to downtown, plenty of ice in the ice machine (despite what many reviews say) - and I wasn't scared! (I'm easily scared - and... more

!!!OMG!!! I had to go to Memphis (downtown) because I had to go to Lebonheur Hospital and this was the closest motel. I read the reviews, not good, but I took the chance anyway. The area is bad, there is a policeman parked at the hotel most of the time. I had a non smoking room (yeah right) the smell... more

This was, without a doubt, the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The only good thing about it was the night clerk. She was very nice and helpful. The first room we were given was on the backside of the hotel where there is no parking. Did not feel safe at all! The room was disgusting...rusted bathtub, nasty shower... more

Well we stayed here on our second night in Memphis because it was stated that it was near downtown area... but more like near a mortuary!! I mean my view was a abandoned creepy lot. The pool was covered in a thick green gunk and the whole building looked like it was going to fall apart. The first room we... more
