We stayed at the harbourmaster on their special Sunday deal with dinner included. The room was absolutely fantastic with wonderful blankets and a massive bathroom. Dinner was fine, although a little overpriced. breakfast was great as was the atmosphere in the hotel generally. They did try to add about £30 to our bill at the end for dinner which we... more

We were hesitant to stay here after the previous review but the harbour looked so beautiful in the sunset and we were tired. We had not booked and took advantage of the mid-week offer - a bit over our budget but we wanted a treat. We were not disappointed...in fact we fell completely in love with the hotel and Aberaeron.... more

I travel regularly for business, and had been invited to join a "night out" with colleagues. I had heard of and read about the Harbourmaster Hotel, and looked forward to a great meal. Sadly, I was let down. A lovely setting, a lovely bar and restaurant. The staff were attentive and helpful, but sadly the food was nigh on atrocious.... more

A return visit after several years - the first was after the deservedly-ecstatic early reviews. Rooms very comfortable and well-appointed - and my repeat visit was recognised with a note and jar of local honey (nice touch). Staff are friendly and welcoming, and the locals still drop in (good). First time the proprietors were much in evidence : not this... more

We stayed at the Harbourmaster 2 years ago, and liked it so much we came back on our honeymoon! We had the Madona suite at the top of the hotel which was fabulous, beautifully done and lots of character, plus great views. We ate in the restaurant both nights, food was good but not spectacular. Bar is a lovely spot... more

Why do we travel? Personally, I like to go to somewhat out of the way places and enjoy different experiences off the beaten path. During our ten-day driving tour of North Wales, my family and I were constantly asked why, as Americans, we had decided to explore that portion of the United Kingdom. (Locals seemed somewhat surprised to learn that... more

We stayed for 4 nights in the cottage a few doors down from the main hotel. The room was bright, clean and although slightly small, very well kept and equipped. The bed was extremely comfortable. We ate twice in the restaurant and twice in the bar. The quality of the food was very good indeed, as was the service, attentive... more

We stayed in The Madona suite (the original Harbourmasters look-out room). The suite was amazing, incredible views of both the harbour and the sea. The suite was furnished beautifully and with real style. Incredibly comfortable bed, luxury bathroom and feeling of space. The staff were incredibly helpful and made us feel special. The food, both for evening meal in the... more

My partner and I stayed in Aberaeron for 2 days and decided to have dinner at the Harbourmaster Hotel. We hadn't booked so couldn't get a table in the resturant but in a way this turned out to be a lucky stroke because if the poor standard of food in the bar is anything to go by I would not... more

This is how hotels should be. Beautifully appointed room with Molton Brown toiletries, immaculately clean and fresh bathroom, simple but quality furnishings. The bed was incredibly comfortable with an excellent view of the harbour. We loved the quirky shutters for the windows and the exposed brick around the window frame. Excellent food, excellent service, with first class staff and very... more
