I stayed in the Bryn Awel for 10 months while working on a contract for the county council. The rooms I stayed in were more than adequate for my needs with plenty of drawers and wardrobe space for my clothes and with on-suite. No problems with the cleanliness of the rooms during my stay. Staff very friendly and helpful and a good laugh to boot. Food and drink were in the restaurant were excellant value for money - if you like a challenge try the mixed grill.

If you want luxury go somewhere else but if you want value for money this little hotel is as good as you could find.

A group of us booked into this hotel when staying in Mold for business purposes.
First impressions were very poor - the hotel looks like a very dated motel - shabby and characterless. When we arrived we were allocated rooms in the 'motel', a separate building which we weren't keen on since it was a very cold day and would have meant walking across the car park to reach the restaurant and bar so we were reallocated to the main building. My partner & I had a rather dark room - double bed + single - with 3 coathangers for a possible 3 people & a trouser press behind the single bed so that it couldn't be used.
The kettle had to be plugged in on the floor, there was a steep step to the bathroom, and only one reading light. Our colleague had a much better room, obviously recently revamped with lots of lights!
We ate both nights in the restaurant - tapas the first night & 'traditional' the second and the food was pretty good. Drinks were very reasonable too...
