This is a lovely old building with lots of original oak panelling and stained glass windows in the bar. The rooms are fine, but don't really live up to the promise of the place. They are clean but very average, typical corporate-style rooms with bog standard furniture, net curtains and ugly carpet, and the shower cubicle was tiny. The bathroom... more

My wife decided mid week that we should go to Chester on the Saturday for my wife to have some retail therapy, I thought that a night in a good quality hotel close to out destination, preferably at a reasonable price in this economic climate, was in order. I visited the[-] website as is my usual first port of call,... more

Stayed here for week on business last summer and was reasonably happy. The staff were really friendly and always tried their best, the food was excellent and worth the visit alone and the hotel grounds really nice. On the downsides, the room was pretty small and outdated and having spent a week there I was pretty bored by the end... more

I wasn't aware when booking that there was to be a wedding party totally overtake the whole hotel, you can imagine the scene....drunk adults poncing around in their best and chilldren running around or crying but it didn't put us off as they disappeared... more

Entering the drive the hotel certainly looked impressive. Reception was very efficient and we were quickly allocated our room. Given that it was a Sunday evening and the hotel wasn't that busy our room couldn't have been further away. I had booked an Executive room and apart from a kingsize bed I'm not really sure what was executive about the... more

I booked this hotel for the night after Valentines Day for myself & my husband as a treat just for 1 night. We got there B4 the check in time, and our room was already ready for us. I had ordered a bottle of Champagne for the room, and that arrived very promptly direct to the room. We had a... more

We stayed at this hotel with friends,in November as a birthday treat. An excellent, peaceful country hotel in the most beautiful surroundings. The hotel has recently been refurbished to a high standard and the whole place looks fantastic. There is a lovely traditional bar with a very welcoming log fire. The rooms were large, tastefully furnished and very well appointed... more

I recently Celebrated a special Birthday at Northop Hall Country House Hotel. What a Fabulous place it really is, My breathe was instantly taken away by the Beautiful Grounds as i travelled up the driveway. The Hotel itself was lovely, as soon as we walked into the bar we were welcomed by a roaring fire and a very pleasant atmosphere.... more

We stayed at Northop Hall to visit Chester for a break and didn't fancy the city for accomodation and opted for the idea of a country house hotel instead and what good choice it was!! The drive is very impressive as is the grounds, and lit up at night is even nicer again. The reception was really quite nice and... more

I stayed for one night on business and, though parts of the hotel (the new add-ons to the old country house itself) are now a little outdated and slightly grubby looking, the general impression i got was very homely and cosy. The food in the hotel's restaurant is delicious - well worth sampling while staying. The waiting staff are very... more
