Recently visited this lovely hotel as a birthday treat and what a treat! We were warmly welcomed by the staff and there is a beautiful roaring fire in the lounge, which has a galleried landing and is tastefully decorated, as are all rooms. Our room was very clean and had all amenities required for our stay. We chose to eat... more

The Hotel and grounds were very beautiful as was the attention to detail overall. I found the staff very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The bedroom was very lavish and every possible need was provided for. The public rooms and dining room were luxurious and food served was lovely. My stay at this hotel was very pleasurable indeed,... more

On first arrival at this beautiful hotel, we were more than pleasantly surprised at the majesty of the building and its beautiful gardens. The manageress who welcomed us was more than hospitable, showing us to our room and ensuring that we had all we required. The bedrooms were well appointed, the décor and furnishings delightfully luxurious. Special mention must be... more

Having paid £130/night for a standard room, which we felt was a high rate for a 3* country house hotel, we were disappointed to be given a small attic room without a usable shower. There was a shower attachment over the bath but this was not attached to the wall and had extremely low water pressure. We were not told... more

Gorgeous hotel in beautiful peaceful setting. Rooms lovely. Weekend was spoilt by the unhelpfulness of the staff. It felt like things were too much bother. One particular member of male staff was quite rude one morning at breakfast. Maybe this was because they seemed short staffed but it's no excuse. I also thought breakfast was nothing to write home about.... more

Spacious rooms which are in keeping with a country house. We did not try the evening meal, as other guests told us it was expensive and left hungry. the hotel lacked atmosphere and requires other activities such as Croquet/Boules. the only games available was chess and drafts. more

The hotel is beautiful and in a lovely location.Breakfast was lovely but evening meal was a little too expensive. There wasnt alot of staff around best part of the time and reception was left un maned most of the time. The curfew of 12pm and the no smoking threat notice in the room seemed a little harsh (150 pounds fine)... more
