I booked this hotel for my friends 40th birthday white water rafting experiance for its beautiful lake location and our stay at this hotel ruined it for us completely. we arrived at this hotel after a 200 mile drive and after standing at reception for 10+ minutes we went and found a bar staff person who pointed in the direction... more

I stayed at this hotel as part of a conference party, who had previously used this hotel before. on arrival you were taken away by the location and the beauty of the area, but as for the hotel we were left for quite a while at reception as there didnt seen to be any managment of the staff, this seemed to... more

Visited the Bala Lake Hotel with my husband and 2 children aged 10 and 7, had booked superior room with 2 extra beds in and upon arrival offfered adjoining rooms for the same price. Rooms were at the rear of the main building and adequate but had no lake view, coffee making facilities were available in rooms. Booked table in... more

A bit disappointed although the room was nice although basic, and the staff were friendly, and the hotel is in a beautiful setting, we felt although it stated child friendly etc the facilities and assistance for our toddler was limited. Our room was at the top of 3 flights of stone steps, not easy to carry a child and your... more

The location of the hotel is beautiful and the staff are very friendly indeed but unfortunately the whole experience was marred by the expense of the stay. The majority of rooms are in a purpose built block behind the hotel which was built very cheaply and has the feel of a budget roadside hotel. The walls are thin enough to... more

The reviewer from Birmingham summed up my thoughts on this hotel, but I would add that there is a strong Christian ethos at the hotel that may not suit everybody. It's certainly not the place to go for a dirty weekend! On a more practical note, it's definitely worth paying for a superior room as the views are gorgeous. Within... more

This hotel was a TIC (Tourist Information Centre) recommendation. The friendly, helpful staff, most of whom seemed to be one or another of the owners, went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a wonderful view of the lake. The dining room also had a great view of the lake... more

After driving 250 miles around Snowdonia and seeing grotty hotels one after another it was a nice surprise to fall upon the Lake Hotel at 6-00 pm that day. The hotel is clean and the rooms modern, the staff are great and it is just what I would hope to find from a 3 star hotel. Go for the discounted... more

This is a thoroughly charming hotel. It's set in beautiful welsh countryside, with a wonderful view of Bala Lake, and the sun setting over the mountains behind the lake. The staff are incredibly friendly, happy to help and a delight to deal with. The breakfast was fantastic, and they served vegetarian sausages for my partner without any notice whatsoever. What... more
