We had a standard room and paid less than £50 for the night. It was a fairly large room with a large bathroom which had one of the best showers I have ever used. This is a lovely hotel in Ruthin right in the centre if the village square where bloody executions used to take place! There is a stone... more

Dreadfully noisy pub next door with loud music until 1 am on Saturday night - could not sleep. Breakfast pretty poor for the price of the hotel. Not much choice and sausages etc all poor quality. Decor is dated. Hotel was generally clean though. more

We booked our room through late rooms at a good price. On arrival we discovered the hotel wasn't expecting us until the following night, however this wasn't a problem and were promptly booked in. The room was big with a nice en-suite shower. Although the decor wasn't to our taste the linen was crisp and the usual tea, coffee, hot... more

While on a self-drive tour of North Wales we stayed at this hotel for 1 night. We had 2 double rooms booked through Laterooms and one of them had problems with the pipes in the bathroom. Every time someone in the room next door used the toilet or sink it would make the pipes go crazy. The other bedroom had... more

My wife and I are in our 70s, and when booking I had forgotten to mention that my wife is disabled and finds stairs difficult. Reception found us the most accessible room on our arrival, and the following morning we were allocated the only ground floor room that had just become available. Both rooms we used seemed to have been... more

Our party of ten took five rooms for a Saturday overnight stay to attend a 60th party in nearby Denbigh. The hotel is situated slap bang in the centre of town and has an adjoining car park with access into the hotel direct. Good start. Receptionist in attendance and ready to receive boarders. Like it. Rooms clean, fairly roomy and... more

I spent two nights at the hotel in early June 2007, and I am sure a number of changes have been made since the previous writer's review. There were six of us, all using a double room for single occupancy, and we were all impressed by the standard of the rooms and the appointments. Beds were comfortable and the showers... more

Very nice room apart from the drafty broken window in the bathroom (wouldn't like to have to use the loo in winter!). Food. Um. Starter of deep fried goats cheese was barely warm. They hadn't cooked the dessert (baked alaska) either. One of the waiter's shouting down his mobile phone most of the evening didn't add to the ambience either.... more
