It is very difficult to review this hotel. Negatives - No shower in the bedroom only a bath. No television which meant I had to watch the Rugby World Cup in the pub. what a fantastic hotel. wonderful views of the sea in an excellent location. the hotel is full of character with beatiful airy rooms. the breakfast is fantastic and is served in a dining room with fantastic sea views. the hotel has its own bar, what more could you want than to sip a drink whilst overlooking the sea. more

i totally disagree with this other comment. what a nice change it made to stay somewhere with some character! okay, yes the rooms are dated but the bonus id taht you are staying in a 14 century fort, with great views. more

This hotel has outstanding views and is unusually shaped like a Fort- hence it's name.Unfortunately that's all it's got going for it.The rooms are very dark and dated,and we were cold even though it was a warm day.
