What a lovely place. On arrival we were offered tea and cake out in the garden enjoying the last rays of the sun and we were soon joined by the free range chickens looking for titbits and the background squeaks of the children's new guinea pigs.
We stayed in the first floor four poster room which was spacious with a view over the garden. We had a separate entrance through the dining area downstairs so we didn't have to walk through the family kitchen but felt welcome to stick our heads round the door. I think you can also camp or stay in the self-catering cottages and your horse is welcome too!
We had a beautiful meal there in the evening and enjoyed a walk up the hill to find the badgers afterwards, if you're lucky Marmaduke the cat will join you too. A peaceful and scenic place.
If you fancy a tipple you can either take your own drink or pop down to the local.
