We stayed two nights in the Barn over a freezing cold and wet weekend and I am sure we could not have found anywhere better. The Barn was very comfortable and exactly as described on the site and, despite being a large room, the wood fire kept us very comfortable day and night with a minimum of effort. The bed,... More

Spent the weekend in Tilwinda's converted barn. Weather outside cold but inside the barn was warm, cosy and comfortable. Warmly welcomed by our hosts, the fire was blazing well and there were plenty of breakfast provisions. The Kyneton area has so many interesting villages, antique shops, walks and bike rides that a weekend is not enough time to do it... More

We stayed two nights in Tilwinda and we had one of the two homestead rooms which were lovely. The property as a whole was very cosy and pittoresque. The room we stayed in was spatious and nicely decorated. The room and ensuite bathroom was very clean; great beds with quality linens etc. Hosts Howard and Zola are very friendly and... More

Summary Tilwinda is a Grand Old Homestead located just outside of the main town of Kyneton with delightful hosts Howard & Zola who aim to please with a well kept fastidiously clean B&B. The Featherbed eggs ‘n’ bacon come highly recommended, as does the entire Tilwinda experience – thank you Howard & Zola for a restful stay! The property The... More

What a beautiful homestead, tasteful furnishings & lovely garden setting. Extremely comfortable and roomy. Unsurpassed cleanliness & attention to detail. Little chocolate slices, wrapped cookies, crispy bed sheets, what seemed like brand-new carpet and bathroom, thick clean towels, and the very best of breakfasts - everything was so fresh! We had to try those Featherbed Eggs (have a weakness for... More

We spent two nights at Tilwinda Homestead in January 2009. On arrival, we were greeted by Howard who regrettably informed us that the power was out due to the extreme heat. This situation could easily have deteriorated rapidly into a bit of a disaster, however Howard handled it very well and we decided to stay and risk it. Fortunately the... More

What a gorgeous property. We stayed in the B&B rooms which are beautifully maintained. Everything was spotlessly clean with some nice added touches like biscuits and port. I would suggest if you want your privacy, this place is not for you. Expect to see the hosts a couple of times throughout your stay and expect to have them basically having... More

Tilwinda has an original homestead with two B&B rooms, plus one self contained cottage behind. We stayed in the self contained cottage and it was lovely. Hardwood floors, lovely bluestone walls, nicely decorated, with a very comfortable bed. An added surprise was the original shearing shed, complete with equipment and old tins, behind a window opposite the bathroom. The hosts... More
